i have tried many different sugar free ice creams. What i have found is that the taste is not the issue. I think all of them are made with splenda and are all delicious.
The problem is, for me, the half-gallon kinds doesn't sit well. perhaps it is because it is not portioned out. So if you like measuring your food you could start with it. But i hate measuring.
Also, i find some foods are ok in different forms. So like i can not eat spaghetti. BUT i can eat ravioli or lasagna. It's all pasta, but i firmly believe it's the form that could be causing trouble. maybe half-gallon ice cream melts too fast or something.
The Klondikes are a different form - maybe even a very different prep. Another brand that works well for me is Skinny Cow sugar-free ice cream sandwiches. again, something more than just the ice cream.
Now if you're like me i love to dress up my ice cream - nuts, fruits, whip cream. I haven't done it for a long while. But you could certainly dress up the Klondike or Skinny cow.
I make it in a little half pint electric ice cream maker and takes 15 minutes.
