at therapy yesterday. My first therapy session to help get my back stronger so that maybe I wouldn't have as much pain when moving. Had therapy in the pool and just felt so great to be able to move and do things that I kept on doing them. Of course when I got out of the pool my body let me know how much it didn't appreciate the movements. Now today it is really letting me know how mad it is at me. I have four and a half months left till I can get the surgery and it just seems to be going really fast. Although lately I have for some reason been overcome with fear that I won't do that well with the surgery because of the mobility issues. I think that is part of what drove me to do so much yesterday. I just hate losing my mobility more than most people could understand. I may be fat but I was always proud of the fact that I could move around under my own power and now I have a hard time with that. It sometimes is overwhelming and feels really easy to just give up and lay in bed all day everyday. Just let the weight, mobility and everything else overtake me and not fight it anymore. Thank goodness I have my wonderful son who grabs my hand and tells me just a little more mommy. Then there is my husband who tells me it will all be ok. I just can't wait for the surgery because then hopefully all those issues will start resolving themselves and I will start feeling tons better.

Never fear! i ride in a scooter at home in the yard and at the grocery store.. I did very well and very fast loose 115 lbs with no exersize doing it. I am not saying don't exersize i am just saying you will be just fine!

Now i walk a lot better and do not use a cane even though i walk like a drunk saylor some times! I have two bone on bone knees and nuephathy ankles down in both. You will do just fine1

I have some mobility issues as well, Elly. Arthritic knees both with tears in the meniscus, chronic inflammation in hip muscles......Nonetheless, I have been successful with GBS. I was not able to walk every day. I got in maybe three days a week, and I had to sit on ice afterward, just so I could go again in two days....Still, my body dropped the fat. GBS will work for you, too. No worries. :)

Pre op I just walked. There were days I REALLY didn't want too... I live on a farm an my mom and Sis houses are on it as well as mine... Tue, wed I'd walk to get my Sis kids off the bus and some days I'd just want to walk right back home but I always made myself take the long way I would walk other days but never pushed myself too far witch I do have that problem of doing at times then get burnt out quickly. Work your self up:-) you have 4 months.... I had 1 o_O and if your having back problems I think you should do only what you can do now once you've learned your limitations and maybe next work out a little more and a little more. I WISH my Sis had her pool clean cus I would have rather done that over walking. I hope you get to feeling better ASAP and just take it slow if you have too.

Hey girl, It's me from the pool during therapy. I'm still looking around in here and trying to get the hang of things. I know I over did things in the pool and It's still kicking my fanny but, it let's me know I'm alive and able to keep going. I'm hoping to find out Monday that I can do more than the pool so I can get stronger and healthier before my surgery. I take baby steps and do what I can. You know my situation so you know how things are for me. It was awesome meeting you and getting support info. Our surgery time will be here before we know it but, we will be stronger and healthier before we get them and even more after cuz of the steps we are taking now. Hang in there and don't give up.
