Oh My Goodness!!! I thought it was just me!!! I am 7 months out of RNY and boy do I stink!!!! The poor folks I work with ofter threaten to send me home..... I do try to do the squeeze the cheeks together and run for the bathroom but don't always make it.. By the way gasx does NOT work for me!! If anybody has a remedy I along with my family and coworkers would love to hear it!!! The only one it doesn't seem to bother is my dog.... I love him too much to try to blame it on him. LOL!!

Whats the name of the book your doctor gave you to read?

It is called the Heartland Bariatric Patient Handbook. It I suppose is published for the Bariatric center at Heartland hospital. They give it to all their patients.

OMG, I'm laughing so hard, I'm crying. I'm going to have to take a break.

My husband tells me every night let me be a sleep befor you rip one. Lol.. I will never for get the first time it happend after surgery when we went to bed. I tried to hold it in and it was so bad I could not do anything about it. My husband said something done crawled up there and died. I was so embaressed.

I laughed so hard through all of these post but as much as i laughed I have to admit that I am afraid. I still try not to poop in my husbands presence after 29 years. Now he don't care where he lets the gas fly, but i still get out of bed at night and go to the bathroom - just how long does this extreme gas last - omg i share the office with someone, I'll probably kill the poor guy. Oh all the things to have to worry about - This journey is going to have many twist and turns I see - and i won't be able to blame the dog cause I don't have one - lmbo literally.

I have the public-restroom phobia too and I have found the best gas solution to be going to take a walk! I hate the cold but it it's only 10 degrees out I still need to go out and walk to make sure the air I express doesn't kill somebody.
One time I was on a trip sharing a room with a lovely lady and the whole work team went everywhere in lock step together for a whole day and evening. It was so hard to hold it back I practically turned myself inside out! I finally said I needed to grab a breath of fresh air and luckily no one wanted to come with me. It was such a relief to let nature take its course! If they only knew, I proabably saved them from certain death!

LMBO @ certain death. I will try as much as possible to make it to the rest room to avoid certain strangulation of my co-workers and family, but from reading all of this, I don't know how fruitful my efforts will be. I just don't want to be that person everyone avoids because of uncontrollable gas - One of those things I guess you'll just have to ride out lol
