I work 45 miles from home, no car pools available how soon can I drive?

returning to work some have said after 2 weeks they went back, I sit at a desk in fornt of computer all night this would be great, how do you handle taking food to work to eat, what kind and what kind of containers work best/

My surgeon told me I could as long as I didn't take any pain meds due to the sleepiness they cause.

Food - if you are new post op you'll be on that damn liquid diet. I just bagged my protein powder when I was on the go in a Ziplock. Water can be found anywhere to mix with, so that wasn't a problem. I had one of those shake containers from GNC.

My surgeon said the same thing..as long as I wasn't taking narcotics I could drive...Best wishes to you!Amy

Once you are off your pain meds. (or other drugs that make you sleepy) you can drive.I found the smallest containers that I could to take to work. Also, I found various web sites that sell foods for bariatric patients. They are high protein/low fat and sugar and come in one serving sizes. My favorite one come from www.bariatricchoice.com they have meat sticks that taste like slimjims, but are good for us and crunchy foods with a lot of protein.

i was also told after not on pain killers and when can hit the breaks without pain ...i myself waited for 3 weeks ..i really was not comfortable sitting up for long periods till atleast 3 weeks ...i am going on 4 wks post op and energy level was real low ..still get tired easy ... good luck ...hope this helps
