Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Also, don't forget that you had major surgery 2 weeks ago - it will take at least another 2-4 weeks before your body even begins to feel normal again as far as energy goes.
It will take a few more weeks till your tired for surgery too...
Good Luck,
Donna
I also liked the 60/60/60 plan someone else's surgeon gave them - altho I doubt at 2 weeks out you will be able to do 60 minutes of excercise yet. Everyone is different.
I was told 30 minutes of excercise for the first 6 weeks (no more than 10 min at a time - and less if it felt like it was too much). 60 grams of protein, and no less than 64 oz water.
If you follow your doctors orders and eat 4 times a day...then drink your protein drinks of top of that...you will feel like you are eating all day long and that is normal. It is not considered grazing because at first you always have something in your mouth between the vitamins, your water, your protein and food.
I used the Bugs Bunny Sugar Free chewable vitamins at my facility's reccommendation. They taste pretty good but leave an after taste.
