Hey sweetie have you tried egg beaters? I love em :)

Are they a egg substitute??? That was going to be my next try.

I miss eggs sooo much!!!! I tried the egg beaters and the great value egg substatute can't do any of it.

Eggs were the only thing that made me feel ick.

Can you describe to me (Pre-op) about not being able to eat a food? I don't understand why some people have problems with some foods and not others? So far I have heard to be careful eatting chicken, eggs and clams.....are there any other foods that are potentially stickers for our pouches?

I don't mean to be ignorant but cant you purree the egg? Or is it the matter of wanting to eat "regular" egg salad....

I am having surgery in 8 days...on Monday 7/23!!!!! I'd do it now if I could!

I know a lot of people are having problems reintroducing eggs and chicken to their diets but I haven't had any issues. I am 6 weeks out tomorrow. I hope the substitutes work for you. Good luck!

I can eat EVERY thing but eggs o_O Chris... For me I've tried eggs all kinds of ways. I tried eating scrambled first. For me right when it hit my pouch it felt uncomfortable. Like a big lump. So then I thought maybe I'll try a boiled egg in a tuna salad... Cus I could eat tuna. Again that heavy uncomfortable feeling. The last time I tried scrabbled eggs I put a lot of cheese on it.. At first it was going good then I started burping and the heavy feeling came and it all came up. Slowly at first then for the second time since my surgery full on throw up... Like it had to get out my pouch. I don't know why some people can't handle certain foods. Luckly I don't have violent vomiting like I know some people have to some foods. Mine slowly just regurgitates back up.

I had trouble with eggs also early on post op. Now they are fine. I still can not eat a whole scrambled egg and I am going on eleven months post op. Something about the egg is super filling. I never tried the egg substitutes, but it might be worth trying. Best of luck.

I was 18 days out and put half of a hard broiled egg in the magic bullet with a little low fat mayo. It was too thick feeling and until I went for a walk I felt ick.

Chicken is one food that is not to bad for me. Egg, peanut butter (natural is all Ive ever eaten) and honey are my 3 number one enimeys of the pouch for me. In my case they hit the pouch and bounce up faste then the other foods. Even if I don't know they are in something say cooked in it my pouch sure knows. I also feel like I have food poisoning for about 6 to 9 hrs after eating them.

For the longest time I could not do eggs either. I have found that as time goes by things change. I am now almost 11 months out and I can eat eggs now. I have to chew them well and eat them slowly and have the tinniest sip of liquid with them but I can eat them. I only drink just a itsy itsy bit of water just to help liquify enough to keep the heavy overfilled feeling at bay.
I would let the eggs go for a month or two and try again later. One thing I have learned that as my pouch matures things do change some.
