my insurance doesn't pay for gastric bypass, so how would I pay for the surgery?

I got an estimate of $56 - 68000.00, ugghhh.

Jane, my surgeon had a cash payment price of $25,000 - Dr. Robin Blackstone in Scottsdale, Arizona. 68,000 seems crazy high!!

Pam, if you go through the entire process... most likely you will get approved... ask for a case manager at your insurance company to help you with the process

I am just curious. If you have surgery in Mexico, do you have a difficult time finding a doctor in the states to take over your aftercare? Does your insurance cover that treatment?

I had my surgery 8 months ago here in Houston. I had to pay out of pocket also but it wasn't anywhere near that much. Thats crazy.
My whole surgery with Doctor, Hospital, Assistant and everything
was $18,000.00.

Hi Texascajun,

Where did you have your surgery? I'm not opposed to traveling to have the surgery if it saves me $50000 or so.
