I was told a meal shouldn't take longer than 30 minutes - to aim for 20-30 minutes (if I remember correctly it was because it would turn into grazing and limit the effectiveness of the pouch).
I do chew each bite until it is a liquid and I eat slowly, paying attention to the "soft cues" my body is satisfied.a burp, a runny nose, thickening saliva, a change in how the food tastes, etc.
I'm guessing the guideline of 3-4 minutes between each bite is to keep you from taking that one extra bite that results in the foamies and the pain in the center of the chest that happens when we eat 1 bite too many. You are probably ok not waiting that long between bites as long as you chew each bite to a liquid, eat slowly, and pay attention to your body's cues you've eating enough.
I know that doesn't help with the temperature thing. Hmmmmif I recall, most of my meals were cold to begin with!! LOL I ate a lot of egg salad, chicken salad, tuna salad, and cottage cheese the first year.

In all 4/5 star restaurants, your food dishes are warmed and you salad plates are kept cold so it maintains food temps longer.

Now, I have one, but gotta find out where I packed it!! LOL!! I moved in with my Mom, and some of my items are packed, but I know I saw it at one point in the last few years!!
I did try to just keep eating slowly, but not wait 3 minutes in between each bite, and I have no trouble doing that, and food is staying hotter.
My little microwave egg cooker with a top helps, I heat it up in there, and then keep the cover closed between bites>
Thanks for all of your suggestions!
