Boy, I didn't realize I would be in so long. I hope I can push and be O.K. to be lucky enough to get out in a couple of days. I really got down and out after reading a post about someone that had so any complications. I know it can happen, but the positive results here are so much greater than the bad ones. I just have to focus on that. I have lost 7 lbs. They want me to lose 13 and I am scheduled for April 19th. I think I will be fine. Prayers are with everyone here going through this. And congrats to Lauren, you go girl!! You will have my vote.

Stay focused on the positive!!! You may hear more about complicatiOns because they are posted. You don't hear so much from those of us who haven't had any or just minor complications. The only complication I've had the whole time was a mouth reactiOn to antibiotic from surgery. That's it!!! Whoo hoo! In the hospital one day, and out the next! It's been an amazing ride. And way easier than many others, thank God! Just saying, it isn't all bad.

Hope you are getting started on your protein, vitamins and water NOW! Everythng will be sooo much easier after surgery having already gotten used to the program.

I was in the hospital 9 days of the first 2 weeks, BUT...I was really sick, and not from surgery...I caught something (obviously) while I was there...most people are in and out within 72 hours...

That is my main goal next week. I have to hav e a tooth pulled on Wednesday and that is really going to help me out lol. Water, protein shakes, then I should be able to go out to dinner for a BAD/good meal before I have surgery and then it is all good. Thanks so much.

I was in less than 36 hours and no complications yet (2 weeks out). I had a knee replacement 2 years ago. This one was way easier. If you respond as I have, the dentist appointment will be worse than this has been so far.

My surgery went great. But I had allergic reactions to two post-surgery drugs, so I was in the hospital for two days rather than the one that I had expected. Still, not bad. As for recovery--very little pain, no nausea, no vomiting, no complications. Biggest challenge was drinking something every 15 minutes!

Most people who have complications post because they'd like advice or want to know that they aren't the only ones with their certain complications. Sometimes it is to educate us too. There are far more who haven't had any complications. It never hurts to learn about complications just in case but you are more likely not to have any. I hope your surgery and recovery are complication free!

those of us that had complications need to know we are not alone.. so I agree with lcat.. they are the few.........I had my complications afterwards......and this board was EXTREMELY helpful.........I was in the hospital for 2 nights.....

I am only down 47lbs but can already tell this is the best thing I could have done for myself! good luck!

@Doridoodles, I know it can be nerve wrecking. I was fine last week but the more research I do the more nervous I become. I am sure alot of us experience the ANXIETY. Hang in there......

things will be great. the reason i posted my recent complication was like in this chain of posts to get support and advice.

it's nice to hear from others. but seriously i am fine a small set back and here i am on the way to a new me!

the positive attitude in this group can get us through anything!

good luck and it does go quickly.
