Hey guys, did my subject catch your eye lol. How many times a week do you guys weigh in, I am curious to know. Me personally I weigh now 2X a month, every 5th of the month because that is my surgery date and the 19th because that is two weeks after. I used to be a slave to the scale and when I weighed everyday and didnt see the scale moving I would get upset and discouraged.

With me just weighing 2X a month I am noticing my body changes even more so, does that make sense? For example I notice how loose my clothes are fitting how different my body is looking and now that I am not stressing on the scale I can appreciate this more.

It might not work for all of us because I know old habits are hard to break but this has really helped me keep my sanity, and when I do step on the scale and see that I have lost weight be it 3lbs or 10lbs. It makes me feel all the better instead of weighing everyday and trying to watch every lb or oz. come off.

Like a few of the others, I don't consider myself a slave to the scale, but I do weigh every morning...I get up, go to the bathroom, weigh myself, brush my teeth, take my vitamins, then drink my protein shake while I log my weight and check in here and on a couple other boards. It is my routine and it works for me. I have an excel spreadsheet with my weight charted every day since Feb 10, 2010 (the day I had my RNY). I don't weigh on vacations. If my weight goes up a lb or 2, I cut back on any "extras" (like popcorn or nuts). The scale keeps me accountable. It does not dictate my mood and I am not obsessed with "a" number. Some people do best with daily weighing and some people need to limit weighing to once a week or once a month.

I am 17 months out from RNY and I weigh every single day (with the exception of my recent vacation). I weigh in the morning when I get up and that is it. I have done this since the week before my surgery. I feel like it has kept me accountable and it will be easier to keep weight from slipping back on.

I am sooooooo glad you said that! I have been working very hard to lose the last 10 lbs. Weighed myself one morning and went to the Dr for an eye infection. The scale was up 5 lbs! I was so upset I went and had some red vines! Saw the nutritionist who reminded me that the weight can fluctuate like that over the course of the day. Still couldn't get off the scale. Well,the scale broke and I had to sent it back to the manufacturer. I feel like I have been freed! So when it comes back I will go to once a week. It was just so good to hear I'm not the only one out there addicted to the scale.
