Seems many of us have problems with chicken, though I've found if I eat the dark meat and make sure it's moist I'm fine. I buy packs of fryer thighs. Try boiling it in broth like you're making soup or roasting in the oven with the skin on (of course, take the skin off before eating it).

If chicken is dry, I will ALWAYS bring it back up and I am 30 months out. I try to either eat dark meat or have a little fat free gravy for the chicken or turkey. It helps it slide down easier. It is a crap shoot from one meal to the next, after GBS. Try something and if it doesn't agree, wait six weeks or so and try it again.

chicken and eggs are common problems for many post op, never mattered how i cooked chicken, it could be so moist but nope my pouch "sybil" hated it and it cause me great pain and came back up.
i call my pouch sybil because she has many personalities, she wants what she wants and wont tolerate anything else. different things different days lol

oh i did find a type of chicken that was easiest for me, it was yrs out i could tolerate chicken but the chicken tender cut of the chicken works best for me for some reason. took me 3 yrs to tolerate any type of chicken and 4 yrs to tolerate eggs. but i can do them in moderation, cooked a certain way, sometimes lol

Chicken can be a rough one for sure. I used to grind it up and put some Miracle Whip Light in it and eat it like Chicken Salad. White meat is the worst. I think bone-in chicken is more moist and I agree with Kristi about chicken tenders if you prefer white meat. It is the tenderloin of the chicken breast and it juicy and tender if you cook it just until it's done. I think the key to moist chicken is not over cooking it.

Hang in there. It should get easier for you.

the trick with meat (any) is to use a sauce, and then chew it more!!!

the sauce helps to combat the lack of moisture in the meat, It really helps! I used Ranch dressing often for what ever meat I was eating, but I like the steak sauces too! For the amount we can actually eat, you won't even get a serving in of any sauce you use...

even if you think you've chewed enough, you haven't! Lol!

KristiL...you said a mouthful, sybil is the right name for my pouch. Its so hit or miss. One day you can eat something and tolerate it quite well and the next day you sick as a dog from the same thing. I'm now 7 months out and rarely get sick anymore, but for those of you that remember, i was sick on a daily basis for a few months from just about everything except cheese and yogurt. I dont know if you have Fresh Markets where you are, but they make the most incredible chicken salad and they use rotisserie chickens so its very moist and they use a minimal amount of mayo. Its the best chicken salad I've ever had...yummm

I am 4 1/2 weeks post op...and I have dumped every time I ate chicken. I thought it was just me.

I can't tolerate chicken most of the time -- but my reaction is inconsistent. It seems that the foods I am supposed to eat make me sick and the ones I should avoid -- carbs and sugary food are just fine. Very confusing, but you are not the only one. Lorraine
