Hi everyone. It's been so long since i've been here. I have been having ,multible problems all at once and my health hasn't been good.
I want to ask if anyone developed Gastritis? I have it very bad. Have a lot of pain.
j would be interested if others developed this..even with this problem..i still have no regrets about having gastric bypass

Sorry you are experiencing this. No, but my dr has had me on nexium from the beginning to prevent such as this. Was has your dr done about it? Has he put your on Antacids such as famotidine (Pepsid), cimetidine (Tagamet), ranitidine (Zantac), and nizatidine (Axid) or Proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) such as omeprazole (Prilosec), esomeprazole (Nexium), iansoprazole (Prevacid), rabeprazole (AcipHex), and pantoprazole (Protonix) yet? Have you researched it yet? It can be treated.

I am sorry you are having issues. I have not had this problem. I was told to stop taking my prilosec (omprezole) at my 6 month visit but my GERD symptoms started coming back so I am back on it again. We will see what what my one year check up in September brings.

Like Lcat4 said, are you taking any kind of antacid as a preventative?

what haven't I had symptom wise in my belly/pouch/intestines........Im sorry I don't know what gastritis exactly is but I do take aciplex 2x a day for acid it took away the feeling of extreme chest pain I got from time to time. My doctors said I fee the reflux higher because the pouch is higher..........I hope you feel better soon.

Ouch - that doesn't sound good at all. I haven't had that particular problem. I do hope you can get things figured out so you stop being in pain.

I took omprezole before surgery and doc says I can still have it if I want. It works pretty good as a precaution for stomach aches.

Sorry your having problems, I was on omeprezole post op also and my doc said if I developed problems later that he would prescribe it again. Will your doc give you anything to help with it.

Has your dr given you Pepsid or the antacids like that yet? What about PPI's other have mentioned I was on PPI's for a couple months and was on them pre op for acid reflux/gerd. I also got Zantac in the hospital and to take for a couple months post op too.
I sure hope they get this figured out for you Deb. I am sorry you are having issues. How is the knee from the last surgery? I haven't heard from you in a while!?!?!

Thanks everybody. I have had 4 endoscopies and am on protonix 2xday, bentyl 3xday, carafate 4xday, xtra strength maalox if needed. Dr told me if my stomach doesn't settle down he will go down and do a biopsy and might have to have a revision done. He is on top of things. He also gave me liquid vicodine when the pain gets bad and nothing else works. He told me to call if it is really bad and they will see me immediately. I was on the protonix 1xday before surgery. I have faith in my dr and believe he is doing all he could. I am losing weight though because I can't eat much. I told him I just don't feel well all over and I don't think it is my depression so we are doing labs a little bit earlier. Thanks for all your responses..I'll let you know what happens.
