Had surgery TODAY!! In hospital right now.

It went well.. Surprised at how little pain I am in but know it's the morphine. The surgeon has warned me it'll be worse before it gets better. Am so thankful not to have a roomate (yet?) and peace & quiet.

My boss (who is becoming a close friend) thought he'd be funny & told the nurses I need a "do not disturb" sign and a "no hugs" sign on my door. It was comical, the room full of nurses' with confused looks questioning me if that's what I really want! :)

How wonderful. Post-morphine I stopped the meds and didn't really need them. Healing varies. Three things, however, don't: sip, step, sleep.

Going for the leak test this morning... I pray I pass b/c ID give anything I the world for some ice chips!!! Throat is so sore!

Congrats! It is great to hear that surgery actually sucessfully takes place! I am hoping to get an idea of when I'll have surgery in my appt Friday. Enjoy the morphine and stock up on hugs...despite what your boss says! I wish I'd seen the looks on the nurses' faces! Heal up fast!

Congratulations on your surgery! Mine is Thursday (tomorrow) and I hope it goes just as well! I can't have the morphine because it causes major irritation all over my body, so I hope they give me something else just as good!

what is the leak test as I didn't have this was just curious.

This morning they had me stand in front of an xray and drink some stuff to see if there were any leaks from the surgery. After getting the all-clear from that, I can now drink water & other clear liquids.
