I have had 48 oz of water/crystal light,17g of protein, used my breathing machine, and walked some every hour. I hope tomorrow is as good as today. I am excited about this journey. I want to do everything just right!
My hubby has been super sweet! When he saw me after surgery I had not pushed my pain pump button because I wanted to be awake to see him. Let him know I loved him before I went to sleep.
I am not pleased with my doctor or hospital stay. The surgery went well but I didn't see my doctor until he released me and then he had nothing really to say. Of course, I was dressed and ready to leave when he came by.
The day staff didn't do anything they were supposed to do unless I asked for it and part of the time I was so out of it I couldn't ask for it...When I was alert I had to ask for the pain pump to be removed...I had to beg for water, And they never once asked If I was ready to walk....My night nurse was much better. She would get me up to walk and bring me water or ice.
The doctor's office also did not have my meds preapproved with insurance and doubt that I will get them tomorrow! Oh well, you live and you learn!

Take good care of YOU... Follow the program and you will do well.... I hope your doc office steps up a bit and provides you better service...
It's too bad you had to take care of yourself while you were there. I think I might write a little letter to the Hospital Administrator.
Glad you're home and hubby is being so sweet to you, I know you were having some reservations earlier because of his feelings. Kind of like my hubby. Found out he was just really worried that something might happen during surgery. He's such a pessimist. I'm exactly opposite, that's probably why we've been married for 38 years.
Glad to hear its going well for you, I haven't had too much trouble either, other than my eyes are bigger than my stomach, but I'm learning. Mistakes really sink in when I'm miserable for awhile.

When I was hospitalized this past January, I was in the ICU for 2 nights, and one of the nurse's there was TERRIBLE to me.
It's not fun, when you don't feel well, or are in pain, to have a staff that falls short of your needs.
