Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I joined 24 hour fitness a little over a year post-op. Personally I like the classes. I found an instructor I really clicked with and she has her own personal training business so I'm training with her.
I have never been impressed with the personal training offered at the gyms. They tend to be high pressure sales and very expensive. One lady at my office got roped into a year's commitment at more than twice the price I pay for personal training.
Most gyms offer a free week to try them out. I think it is good to take advantage of that. Also, gyms always run specials. It is like buying a car. Never pay full-price! Also, there are so many gyms that have month-to month options, I think it is usually a mistake to sign a contract.
Happy exercising!!
