Anybody else have issues with their gums after surgery? If so what happened and what did u do?

My dentist mentioned that my gums were a bit swollen and reddened at my first cleaning after I had surgery (I was about 3 months post-op at that point). They though it was related to less chewing solid food (hard crunchy food) for the time period and maybe that I was throwing up lots the first month post op until I had my nausea controlled. I was doing all of the recommended brushing and flossing already so she decided to wait the 6 months until my next cleaning. My 2nd cleaning 6 months later she said they looked ok again and just to continue doing what I was doing.

Hmmm...yea my bottom gums are super sore and bleed super easy! They actually look like they are receeding away from my bottom teeth as well. It's freaking me out! :(

I dont know what surgery you had but if it was one that doesn't absorb the nutrients that are normally absorbed in the stomach and now aren't because your stomach has been cut smaller, you may be having problems with nutrient absorption. I know quite a few people who got the invasive bariatric surgeries (not the lap band) and their hair and teeth were falling out. Many had dentures even. Make sure you are taking all your vitamins and minerals.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
