Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
As for grocery shopping, most of the things I bought were already mentioned- broth, sf ice pops, etc. I liked sugar free jello enough before surgery but after it I can't stand it. Makes me gag.
It takes a couple of weeks to start feeling like yourself. I didn't even drive until post surgery day 14, and I'm 16 days out and still cannot lift over 10 lbs until 4 weeks out. Plus there are all of the new life things you need to do. Drinking, and getting in protein are a developed skill. ha ha.... It seriously takes me 25 minutes to get my vitamins/pills down in the morning.
Just be sure to take it easy - you will be tired. If you can take any additional time, do it.
