Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Lots of love and hugs to you.
I can so relate with the sibling thing
My brother never ever called after my surgery
He only lives 1/2 hr away
No call, message , anything
Saw him 3 months later at my house for a holiday
My friend said to him " Doesn't she look great?"
He ignored her
It hurt. Even when I broke my ankle 2 weeks ago, nothing
I now just feel bad for him and am grateful I was born with empathy
Obviously he wasn't !!
Recently I had a conversation with my cousin (she has a friend that has had a surgery recently...she stated "I am so tired of her complaints." "My cousin had the same thing and she never complained..." little did my cousin know that all my complaints were given to my mom. I explained that to her and said your friend is going to be in pain and exhausted for at least 2 months, cut her some slack.
People who have not gone thru this just don't know...I know this doesn't lessen your hurt, but, it does explain your sister's insensitivity. Many think this is cosmetic or just the easy way out...most of those people have never struggled with their weight.
Be blessed
