got in a wreck yesterday

did damage to my car and jarred my back pretty bad. I hurt like heck today and feel like crap. Feel like doing nothing but crying all day today. I just get so darn frustrated because it feels like I take one step forward and end up taking two steps back. I hate it.

Am so sorry to hear about your accident. Its okay to cry and all. Have you been seen by a dr - if it gets worse make sure to do so? I worry about you (and all the other posters) for you are all like family to me. Where else can I go to share my problems besides my doggie and not sound like a broken record. Call upon us anytime day or night - even through emails if you wish to me.

This might sound corky but it feels good at times to find others going thru the same things as I am.

Don't smack me but I truly believe "God lets things happen for a reason both good and bad." And while you can't figure it out right now - down the road (excuse the pun) something good will have come out of this (and we're not talking about repair of a car or having to go out and get a new one). Might be months from now.

Example - while I couldn't take in another animal - if it wasn't for my son's request to watch his puppy while he and his family went to the beach I would have never have out about all my medical issues which almost put me 6 ft under. Oh and that puppy... turned into a 10 yr "weekend at the beach" for he became Mommy's dog.

I sure know that backwards steppin all too well. I got my lap band in November. I was doing great before the surgery, but since then, it has been one thing after another. Just last Tuesday, I had rotator cuff surgery, to repair damage that happened when I fell at work back in February. I had gained a few pounds after the accident because of the pain and lack of exercise. I got that all off and a little more as I began to feel better, but now I am back where I started. I know that i have to make good food choices and if I am in too much pain to move around, adjust my intake. Those steps forward can be maintained if we are aware of our bodies and adjust our needs accordingly. Dont let it get your down, just promise yourself you wont give up!

Def. have your back checked thouroughly. My chiropractor told me the slow accidents are worse than the higher speed accidents on the neck and back because the crumple zones on the car do not activate at the slower speed accidents and therfor your body takes the brunt of the force of the accident instead of the crumple zone of the car.
