Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
....just saying!
I like priority lists myself to decide the what and when and importance of stuff if I get bogged down with it all.
no matter when good luck
It was the right decision for me. I had no obligations and could take the time to focus on myself :)
It's up to you, but I would miss those things to have my surgery. I just think of all the fun stuff I can do after I've lost the weight.
I am just so happy and grateful that my surgery is in the past and I am moving forward and now "on the losers bench" lol
You'll just need to adopt a mindset that you can do it, and can adapt to anything. I've already figured out how to navigate book club meals, pot lucks, eating out, family dinners, and travel. A little planning ahead, and you'll be good. Imagine how much more fun all those adventures will be when you are on your way to the next smaller size!
In 3 1/2 months I feel sooooooooooooo much better..... I wish I could have done it sooner... I had to wait because I had to have a neck surgery before my RNY and I wish I could have done things in reverse...
Only you know what is best for you, but after 4 weeks or so there is no reason you can't do whatever of those things you haven't done yet...
Good luck making your decision.... FOR ME: my health is the most important thing...
Here's my theory: this is all about me. It's my opportunity to be absolutely selfish and put myself first for a change. I don't care how it impacts my cruise, I'm having his surgery ASAP and will even tell the surgery center that I'm only an hour away if they have a cancellation!
What if my employer has to cut costs somewhere and they drop Bariatric benefits in the middle of the year? What if I break my leg and it pushes my surgery back three months?
Nope. Not me. I'm jumpin' onto the OR table at the first opportunity!
Only you can know what is more of a priority for you. But if you don't wait, then think about how great you will be feeling for the next event and the next and the next and the next........
Good luck and I know you will make the right decision for you!!!
