That is so great! I'm proud of you!

I think about that movie "The Bucket List", with Jack Nicholson, and Morgan Freeman. Even thought they were both facing the possibility of dying, they pursued this outrageous bucket list of things they wanted to experience before they died.

That's what this surgery means to me, the ability and the option of doing those things, that I've missed out on all of these years due to my weight and health issues.

I want to go para sailing, zip lining, and possibly sky diving!!! Who knows even after surgery how my back, hips or knees will be, but who cares!!! If I can take the weight off of my joints, then maybe I will be able to do those 3 things.. ...Either way, I have other smaller things on my bucket list, like go to the movies, and feel comfy, go to a restaurant, and sit in a booth, not worrying about if I will "FIT" in a booth. Not needing an extender for an airplane ride...

There are so many, that I've experienced being heavy, it almost brings me to tears, how sheltered my life has been, due to this extra weight, and physical issues.

I am so excited, and can't wait to start living again the right way!

What your husband said to you made me smile, your a lucky woman to have a husband with that much insight. Your right, WLS won't make you happy, butnitndoes makes everything else in your life so much easier. I went into this saying I only wanted to be healthy and I still feel that way. What I've found along the way to being healthy is I am more happy. Not because I'm "smaller" but because of all the freedom my new body allows me to do whatever I want now. I can go anywhere without fear of being the "biggest" person in the room, I fit in all chairs and can go through a turnstile to attend events with my family. I wanted to be healthy so I could be with my family because they are what truly make me happy.

I agree that for me, I did not expect the surgery to make me happy. I was already happy. Now I'm just so much more comfortable with myself and able to do so many more things.

Keep up the great head work Becca! I can't wait til you're post-op! It will be here before you know it!

That is wonderful what your hubby said... I have one like that... He tells me all the time that the only thing he wants is to see me smile.... I feel so blessed...

I have read your replys and posts for the past several months now.
I know you will be successful, because you have the winning attitude to make all the necessary changes. You have been an active participant and committed well before surgery. Most of all, the positive feedback you give to each and every person is so caring and thoughful.
Now is the time where you must, focus on yourself. Don't ever feel bad about putting yourself first. That is one of the most difficult things to do. Because we all tend to be givers. And that is how we ended up obese. Moving forward, I hope these 7 weeks go quickly for you. I am so excited to be someone who will be there for you after surgery too, when you are slipping into those size 6 pants, and medium tops. All easily attained off the sale rack at expensive stores, because they do still exist on the sale rack, because the average size woman is size 14 or above. I used to shop all the time at Walmart. And still do occaisionally. However, I was able to buy cheaper things at the expensive stores on the above 80% off racks. So, this is what I can't wait to see you posting about a year from now. The best advice I can give you is to not over shop. Because you will not be in the sizes long. Sometimes just 5 days and something will be too big, just hanging on you. So, 1 pair of jeans, 1 pair of black pants per size, and tops you can get away with wearing a little larger. The very best advice I can give is to wear "fat sucking panties and tanks the entire process." I have very little hanging skin. My obgyn saw me last week and was astonished. She had not seen me in a year. I believe that was the number one best thing I did, with the exception of following the nutritional guidlines 100%.The first 18 months are the best months to use the tool. Many people resort to old habits, and never get to a healthy weight. Good Luck on your journey, and know I will be cheering you on from afar. Prayers and Love coming your way! Susan

You have a wonderful husband, he's a lot like my fiance, he said he is excited about my becoming healthy more than anything. It's what he's wanted for a long time.
