Make certain that they know that you're scheduled for surgery soon. My friend was told that they couldn't put her on an antibiotic because it would be an automatic cancel of her surgery because it was less than two weeks away! She doctored her cold good old-fashioned remedies plenty of fluids and rest and a decongestant. Hope this clears up quickly for you and doesn't cause a problem.

Thanks Maizey I am going to start treating this cold today myself. My insurance just called approving the surgery too. I got an appointment for 11:00 a.m. today. My primary doctor was able to fit me in. God is good.

Hang in there... The positive in this situation is that you woke up with it today and not a day or two before surgery.... I agree with MaizeyW.... Let your doc know about your upcoming surgery just in case it has slipped his mind... Believing with you it will clear up quickly and you will be 100% for your surgery..... God Bless!!!!

I would say a week before my surgery, I started to get the head cold. And I was told that if I broke out with a fever I would not be able to have my surgery. I REFUSED TO GET A FEVER. I took everything under the sun to get better (Never told my doctor either, lol)

Put vicks va-po-rub on your feet (I know) and socks, with a room vaporizer and go to bed. My friend swears by this !!!! Good luck !!!!!! But watch out for any aspirin or stuff like that, (cuz of bleeding) PS.I am not a doctor LOL !!

Medicate the heck out of that thing!!! Sudaphed, etc. Praying for you!

Father I am trusting in you for my healing. I can barely talk from the scratchiness in my throat so grateful hubby was home today, he already went to pick up my meds and they are waiting for me for when i get in tonight

12 days Lord, I have 12 days to get rid of this and trust me I am determined to.

Thank you for all the prayers - I hate to take another day off of work but if I feel this bad tomorrow, I am home until Monday.

You will kick it! As long as u don't have fever or lung/resp problems most surgeons won't cancel!!! Justbremember you don't want a nagging cough, blowing nose or sneezing post op because let me tell u, it will hurt like the dickens!!! Good luck, prayers ur way.
