Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I'm soooo sorry to tell ya but the RNY'er that's the biggest whiner seat was, taken by ME! Although I'm giggling as I type, I hope you understand that I'm joking!! I did not have an easy post op course (mulitple strictures, profound nausea for over ten months, marginal ulcers x 2, pancreatitis x 2, gall bladder attacks x 2, intestine prolasping into pouch which during the choley removal a piece of intestine was noted to be 'floating around' which explains a lot of nausea issues I had been plagued with) and only discovered that when I had my gall bladder removed cuz it was rupturing a few months ago...
Withallofthatsaid, I didn't loose weight like 90% of other RNY's in part due to my body holding on cuz I wasn't really eating/drinking like I should've been for the first 7 months. Everyone here kept supporting me and giving me encouragement.
One person even went so far as to contact me and told me that she had been nauseated for the first 10 months and then one day she turned a corner and that eventually the weight would fall off if I kept with the program (protein, water/flds, sleep and exercise, supplements) and well you know what???
To date I have lost a total of 128 - 135 lbs depending upon when/how I've been eating! The timeline absolutely does not matter as long as you're keeping with you program! In the end, if you do your best (follow the program) you will be on the looser's bench! I PROMISE!
Keep on this site, keep your chin up and just take comfort in knowing that your hardwork/efforts will pay off in the end!
Take care sweetheart and I wish you all the best!
Merry, merry!
