I am feeling scared, and yet working on riding the roller coaster of emotions as my date is just Monday. I had scheduled for a Nov 18th, but a family emergency came up, and I postponed. Now it is coming up, and I already had my pre-op last month, so it's kinda of strange that I don't have to do all the last day appointments. I start to think that do I still need surgery, and should I really do this to my body. I then remember that I am taking way too many pills for blood pressure, and I already damaged my body with this weight and I am in too much pain. I am gathering up my bag to take with me to surgery, That helps me to really trust that this is real. I was scarred to even post this. I also know that by posting this I am confirming that I both need and will get the surgery. So Monday morn I will be checking in at 5:40 AM. Wish me luck!

I am also scheduled for Monday morning in Flagstaff Arizona. I will pray that we both come through it okay.

Rascel your feelings are perfectly normal. We all second, or third guess this decision prior to surgery because it is life changing and anything that big deserves to be looked at again and again. Look deep into your heart and you will find your answer. I am 9 weeks post RNY and so happy I did this for my health. I am off cholesterol and high blood pressure medication. More surprisingly as a type 1 Diabetic I am also off my insulin! Seems without the crap going into my body it is able to make enough insulin to keep me going. Feel so much better physically, taking walks, energy through the roof...you get the idea. Good luck and keep us posted. People here really care and want to know how you are doing.

Congrats Rascel and Doug~~oh I identify with those feelings! I was feeling like that this past Monday- my surgery was Tuesday. and now? I am already well on the mend and so very hopeful!! So, hang in there and BELIEVE in yoiur self and your choice!!

I had the exact same feelings! I am now 9 days post op, and don't regret a thing! You will do great, congrats and good luck!

Good luck to you Doug! And thanks for all the encouragement. I am feeling a lot better today. I am trying to choose my food wisely today, I had a pizza slice last night. I will make SFJello for sunday, and get ready for creamed soups!

You will do great!

My health is bad, so my surgery was this past Tuesday and I can't wait until I start to feel the "results" of my hard work, that I plan on putting into my journey!!!

I wish you the best! A friend recently said she didn't want to "do that" to her body. I wanted to ask her what she thought her diabetes and excess weight were doing to her body. But I didn't.

I congratulation you on choosing a healthier life. You go girl!!

It is very natural to be scared and second guess yourself. It took me over 7 years of contemplating having surgery. Now that I have finally taken this huge step I couldn't be happier. And in just a short few weeks you will look back and say it was all worth it! Good luck today, praying that everything goes well!

It is 7;44 Am and I am getting ready for my 10Am appointment so I should be in surgery by noon. I am a little nervous.

I totally understand...my surgery was scheduled a month out from the actual surgery so it didn't seem real at times to me either. But it is here...and here you go! I'm sure everything will go smoothly!
