I'm on a cpap. I know I'll need to take it with me.
Best wishes on a speedy recovery.
My setting for the bi-pap was on the highest setting possible for those machines (also known as life support). You will need to go for another sleep study a few months post-op for as your weight comes down so will the machine settings. 1 yr out and I was totally off the 24/7 oxygen and my bi-pap settings was cut more than 1/2 and there have been times where I have gone with out it for several nights due to malfunctioning machines and electricity being out and I was able to sleep comfortably. Before surgery I would stop breathing 300 times per hour. Now its 1 1/2 minutes per hour. Don't have to see the sleep apnea dr for another yr.
Believe it or not but you get spoiled with those machines. Who else can stuff their face in the pillow and still breathe with ease. Also it's a strange feeling to have to learn how to sleep again without the bulky mask. I had forgotten how to sleep and keep the snoz warm on freezing nights and still breathe air.
You'll do fine.
