Ok, so I am almost 4 weeks post op RNY.. went to a little get together and it is hard to believe how much food people will eat and continue to go to the food table and get more, a bite here another bite there, and so on. I for one can honestly say that I am so happy that I decided this was the right choice for me because I was that person that would always return for seconds, thirds, eat a cookie here, grab another later and again. I didn't even want any of that food today!! and no not because I still can't try most of it but I wasn't hungry or even wanted it.. Never in my life have I had that feeling! and what a great one it was!! oh and today was my birthday and I can say for the first time that by my next birthday I will loss weight and be healthier!!! and this site ROCKS!!! so glad I found it!
I've noticed that I've become mildly judgmental of people doing what I used to do because I know the devastating effects. My sister is diabetic and truly would benefit from this surgery, as she's around 300 lbs if not more. She enjoyed inheriting my clothes, but didn't want me "shoving my lifestyle at her like a witness at the front door", do I'm trying to lead by example and hope she comes to me.
This really is an amazing journey and I agree that this site is priceless!
