I was put on the partial liquid diet, starting on 9/10/13.
So, I had lab work done at the Dr's, for an MRI i'm having done on my back.
They called and told me, that my sodium was low. I explained the diet I was on, and they said OH, that's probably why, and told me to add in the Chicken broth. ( I bought low fat, low sodium, but the mg's were still 450mg!!).
Prior to increasing my sodium intake, according to MY scale, I had lost ....11 pounds in 10 days!!
Then a few days after I added the extra sodium, my ankle, top of my foot and fingers started swelling up on the right side. Now, I had congestive heart failure back in January, so I know that if I swell, that is a sign..so I weighed myself, and sure enough, it showed I gained 5 pounds.
I immediately cut back on the sodium, and also cut down on my fluids. I was drinking more than 64 ounces per day...and if you have congestive heart failure, you can "overload" on fluids, sometimes, if you have edema.
I ended up going into the Dr's office, and it showed that I still had lost 7 pounds in 2 weeks, since I've been on the diet.
I also called my nutritionist, and told her what happened. They put me on this partial liquid diet, because I had gainedI19 POUNDS IN 3 WEEKS, BY EATING LIKE CRAP, AND NOT EATING BALANCED MEALS!!! I freaked out, and the NP said she couldn't schedule the surgery, unless I lost some weight, hence the partial liquid diet and so I was nervous they would NOT let me have the surgery, unless I lost most of the weight I gained. .
So, today..my NUT assured me, that she would speak with the NP, and tell her that I'im following the food plan, and really applying myself to do well. Said she'd explain my fluid issue, and told me not to worry. ( I ck in with the NP, on Oct 3rd, and if she is pleased with my progress, we will then schedule the pre-op stuff for surgery! )
This is so important to my health, to do this and lose the weight. I can't hardly walk, or stand for long, and my weight is physically "killing me".
I just wanted to share what i'm going thru, and now that my surgery is now 33 days away, LOL!!....I am really getting close.
You are all such wonderful role models to me...I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your ideas, experiences, and advice. Thanks for reading this. I live alone, and I just don't know what I would do, if I didn't find this wonderful group of people!!!

We must be having surgery at about the same time. Mine is scheduled for Monday 10/28.
I can't even imagine being able to again, but hoping I can?

Just try please to not freak yourself out. Stress will only make it all worse. Ill keep the positive energy heading your way.
