I finally told my mother about my upcoming surgery. I was kind of forced into telling her because I needed to ask her for a ride to my endoscopy appointment on Tuesday. My husband couldn't get off from work to take me and my daughter doesn't have her lisence yet.
She took it much better than I expected. She did keep saying how surprised she was and that I totally took her off guard when I told her about it. I calmly explained all about the surgery , what I have been going through to prepare and make sure I am as healthly as possible before surgery and also what I can expect with the rest of my life after surgery. She was almost too calm. I am sure as she has time to think about it she will have more questions, haven't heard from her yet today, but it is still early, LOL

It's good that you told your mom. I didn't want to tell my family but at the 11th hour I decided that if my sister was going to have major surgery and didn't tell me, I would be very upset. I was really afraid she would be my biggest detractor but she was very supportive and she has been good for me since surgery too. I had a lot of complications and I have only been told "I told you so" by one person and that was my husband's sister not mine! The way I saw it was family has a right to worry if they want to, that's why we have them.... good luck to you with your journey.

I think you did good to tell your mom. That is one hurdle out of your way. You would have to tell her anyway when you have the surgery otherwise she would be hurt that you didn't confide in her. I also believe that she will come back with questions and maybe more. But you seem to be on the look out for that so I think you are doing good. debby

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
