Feel like I can eat too much?

Hi,

I had my surgery on December 20th, so I am almost 3 weeks out. According to mu surgeon's plan I started soft foods on January 4th. So, for breakfast, I had two scrambled eggs and a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese. I was surprised that I could eat all of it. Then for lunch I had a microwaveable cup of soup (15 oz) and a 1/2 cup cottage cheese. Then for dinner I had two tilapia filets (the frozen square Gorton's kind) and a medium baked potato. This was 990 calories and over 75 grams of protein for the day. However, I keep thinking that I shouldn't be able to eat so much at one sitting. Can you guys tell me if this is normal? What do you guys eat?

Normal? thats a good question.. this journey is different for everyone.. but yeah 2 tilapia fillets in one sitting? I cant do that at 2 years out. Cut the eating time down and dont eat until you feel "full" that baffles me because I still don't ever feel full...I dont like that feeling and it often comes with feeling sick.. good Luck!

Wow I am amazed that your new stomach allows this so soon. Just be careful-tune into when you start feeling a little stuffed. Don't push beyond just starting or just comfortable. Too soon to start stretching that pouch after only a little while. However depending on the food you will find your new stomach will hoild more of one type than another. No rule or reason to this so just tune into how it feels to point of satiety or starting to feel full area. Different foods =different amounts allowed by your stomach.

I'm a month out. I can eat one plain scrambled egg. If I put anything in it like cheese or whatever, I can eat about 2/3 of it. I had a piece of fish that was like 2"x2" (I don't have a food scale) but couldn't/didn't eat it all.

For lunch every day I eat 2 pieces of string cheese. I probably COULD eat more, but I don't NEED to. Just because you pouch is somehow allowing you to eat that much doesn't mean you should.

omg, I am 12 weeks out and I cannot able to eat eggs at all, I could see how the cottage cheese and soup stayed down. I agree with everyone else, you should call your doctor to make sure it is something that is normal or not.
