Although I know many of you have sworn to rice being the devil, Brown rice also has 8 g of protein per 1/2 cup. Because of the starch and enzymes in the rice, it helps make more of the protein in the Endamame available to your body.
For Example you said 8g of protein, and if you added the 8g of protein from the brown rice, that would mathematically be 16g of protein. However, the way the enzyme in the rice digests with the beans, it makes it more like 22g of protein that you actually get from combining the two.
I've been a vegetarian for 25 years, and way before surgery, I knew a lot about nutrition to stay healthy without meat. (unfortunately the pizzas, french fries, and chips took the place of many meals that led to my grand obesity.)
Ask your nutritionist about it, and if they say they haven't heard it, tell them to look it up. It's fact!
Endamame is a great meal choice for me, but honestly, if I want a snack or something to carry with me on a walk or bike ride, Almonds are the way to go! There's a ziploc of sliced almonds always riding in the pouch below my seat on my bicycle.
I tend to order on amazon which is great for free shipping, but not if you want to just test a product, they have it in multiple packs.
Also, trader joe's has it.
