Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
My hubby and kids have no complaints. I have more energy, am more excited about life, and happier with myself.
The psychologist I saw at the beginning of this process said that, in general, after surgery good relationships get better and weak relationships get worse.

I was always a talkative extrovert. Believe it or not I am even more so now. I am more self confident and happier! It shows in my life and the way I am. I am not content to sit by and watch anymore. I want to be out doing things and enjoying life. Meeting new people. Having fun!
People treat you differently too as a skinny person.
Relationships change. Some change and survive some don't. It's just the way it is.
but it is all good! As opposed to being a fat slob
I just love being skinny and fit

Right now I am always down and sad and I am not happy just being me.
I want to leap out of bed and smile in mirrors and love myself and feel pretty!
I am too much of a grumpy butt to enjoy life as I know I should.
As I know in my heart I really want to!!
I dont treat people any indifferent. I feel like I am not so uptight and can actually let loose and have fun and enjoy my time.
With regards to your partner and the line of questioning is simply fear of the unknown. Relationships can be impacted by wls. Some individuals prior to the surgery feel trapped (like they cant find someone else) and once they see the changes in themselves relationships can be left astrayed.
Or temptation can lurk from attention that you were not receiving before.
It is all about respect, dignity, honesty, and trust. As long as you have those traits you should be able to balance a healthy lifestyle and relationship if that is what you choose to do.
Best Wishes Mike.
I know I have always loved myself (as corny as it sounds) so i don't need to lose weight to feel differently.
I would think your changes will be in a positive direction!
Best thing to do is talk about it like you are doing it
Whising you the best!
