You should have no problem! I felt good enough and returned back to work in a week and a half. 4 months later should be good! :)

I've done Disneyland (I'm on the left coast) a few times post op and always refer to this site and the restaurant menus to pick what I'm gonna eat before...

I have done Disney several times, but not yet after GBS. One thing I would think about is the meal plan deal. If you are like me a few months out and a lot of food isn't an option you may not want to go for the dining plan because you get so much food with it.
How awesome that you will get to ride the rides in your smaller body.

I had my GBS on 3/15/10 and went to Disney World 5 weeks later. Granted, I was only there a day but spent the whole week in FL. I found it quite manageable. I made sure I brought my re-fillable water bottle and a few GBS friendly snacks. I went with family, so I split meals with my mother (it was tons cheaper then any other trip I've taken to Disney). Rides were great - no problems with my belly being sore. Biggest dilemma I had was my 3 yr old nephew wanting me to carry him - that was a little tricky being so soon after surgery.

You'll have a great time and should have no problems!!! Have fun and good luck with your surgery!

PS - As far as "what" I ate while there - I was surprised that there were choices I could have without much thought. Boneless chicken breast sandwich (took the bread off). If I remember correctly, a lot of the kids meals come with the option of fruit or carrot sticks instead of fries. Portion wise the kids meals were great and it was nice to have healthy sides. I was even able to "indulge" with a no sugar added strawberry fruit bar - helped in the heat of the afternoon. If you look, there will be plenty of things you can eat. I'm four months post op now and going to Disney would be a breeze. You'll be a pro at food choices by then!

Thank you all!! I did take the food plan only because when you eat at those places everyone in the party has to have the food plan to use it. Thats ok I will find something I'm sure...Oh and it will be just about 4 months out so I will be soooo excited to fit on the rides much better :-) Oh and just maybe I will be able to wear shorts haha

I went to Disney World about 6 weeks after my GBS. I had gotten the meal plan so my husband got to eat ALOT because he was getting the majority of my food as well, but he can he extra food because he's a runner. There were lots of healthy options. Have a great time. We loved Chef Mickey's breakfast. It's buffet and had all types of choices and fresh fruit. I have never been one that liked buffet even when I weighed 265 however, this did give me a variety of choices. Also, the chip and dale character meal....can't remember the exact name of the restaurant but it's the Garden something was really healthy too. Have a great time! Enjoy being able to walk around without looking for a place to rest.

LOL funny last comment :-) Thanks that made me smile. Yes I have been to both those buffets and loved them. My trip planner has made reservations for us already! Cinderalla's Castle for Christmas Dinner :-) I guess some of us never grow up haha My daughter will love my extra food I'm sure!
