Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Don't give up.
You've recognized the problem (which is often a lengthy process in itself) and know what you need to do. Just remember: they didn't tell you "no" - they told you "not now."
For me it helps when you pump up the protein and about 80oz of water instead of the normal 64oz. The weight tend to melt off up to about 3 to 4 lbs a week.
Good luck! I know you can do it!
Regarding the weight gain. Forgive yourself, learn and move on. Now that you have a specific goal in sight it will be easier for you to keep focused. You can do this! We're saving your seat on the loser's bench!!
((hugs))

You are piling guilt on top of guilt on top of more guilt... and then topping it off with sprinkles!
JJ already said what took me years to figure out... but I think I finally did.
When we mess up... (when, not if, cause we all mess up sometimes) there are 3 things to do.
1. FORGIVE YOURSELF!! (it is impossible to move beyond the mess up without forgiveness!)
2. Learn from it!! (If you can learn something from the mess up, then it was not in vain... progress was made!)
3. Let it go and move on.... (the first step to getting out of the hole we've dug is to lay down the shovel!)
You're mess up now... it is a reminder of the head work that goes with having this surgery and is a reminder of the work needed still. This is not a bad thing, but it is a real thing... :)
(((((HUGS))))) to you!!

I'm really sorry that so much is going on in your life right now. What a bummer. You've received some fantastic advise. Forgive yourself and move forward. It sounds like you've recognized what has happened and now it's time to turn it around and we all know you can do this.

I have forgiven myself, (or almost done forgiving myself-although I have muttered a few choice words at myself in the last 24 hours, LOL!)
I decided..."If it's safer and smarter, for them to see the weight come off, before they schedule me, than their reasons have got to be, for the benefit of me, and my surgery.
So, I started my journal today, and have followed the guidelines, pretty much to the "T".
Im not gonna starve myself, just to lose as much as possible before they weight me, just eat sensibly, drink my fluids, and try to move around as much as my body will allow.
I also start my water therapy, on Monday. This will give me some more exercise, and I am hoping that will help me shed a bit too, in the next few weeks. I'm going to be going 3x per week...to help my joints that are in pain-knees, hips, and back.
I really appreciate your feedback. This is such a great support group, and you're like an extra FAMILY to me!!!
the research for Mom is going better. I may be able to get her in an Assisted Living Home, instead of a nursing home. She gets re-evaluated on August 14th or 15th. Cross your fingers for us!!
Hugs,
Boo
