Shakes and even tho my hunger is suppose to be gone by now I still feel like I'm starving. I just take it one day at a time and try to remember this is probably the hardest part and I'm half way thru. It will be over soon

its so hard and i have slipped up a few times but got right back on track i have lost 10 lbs so far and my surgery is on wednesday dec 5th and i cant wait its super hard being around food and family wishing you luck

I am with you! Day one is awful. I know I am dealing with more head hunger then actual hunger, but I feel like I would give just about anything to go into the kitchen and mindlessly grab something to shove in my mouth. Mike says that day 3 it starts to get easier. I hope he's right.

As for the kids, yeah. That is tough. Just remember though, we have fought long and hard for this day and we refuse to do anything to jeopardize this amazing gift we are being given.

It does get better. I hid in my room at meal times just so I didn't have to see what the rest of the family was eating. Smelling it was hard enough at times. By the third day it got easier and it really helps to keep the mind on why you are doing this. The pre-op diet is to shrink the fat from the liver and around the stomach so the surgeon has room to work without opening you up like they are gutting a fish.

I agree with everyone. The first few days for me were the most challenging. After that, it was easier and easier each day. I found myself doing other things to keep my mind off of how very little I could eat. I got a lot of things done around my house and cleaned like a mad woman!!!
