Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
You have my support! You will do it, you have the determination to go far. I want to run, but I have to see if my knees can take it. I am a bit older..... but we will see. Keep me posted on your progress, I will be there cheering you along!
Hugs!

I admire you for getting out there and doing it! Go for it! You will feel so good about yourself when you accomplish your goal!
It is so much fun to be able to get out and do things you never did before. Good Luck! Let us know how you are doing!

You can so do this! I so get you on the fat girls don't run. I did the couch to 5k with all the trepidation in the world. After several weeks, I ran a mile without stopping, I felt on top of the world and while running, I remembered a time when I was about six when I ran with friends to school, so we would have time to play before school work. It was the same feeling, the feeling before the world told me I wasn't good enough, that i couldn't run etc. etc. Running can be so freeing! Just remember from that first thirty seconds of running, you can decide : "I am a runner."
PS: I started couch to 5k in Feb. and ran 6.5 miles this weekend.
