Today I joined Planet Fitness. I committed myself to a 1 year/$20 month contract so that I won't have excuses not to exercise. I'm glad because it includes unlimited tanning, and I can use multiple locations.. the last place I went to wanted $25/mo for a 3-year commitment and I wasn't prepared to lock myself in for that long.
I have to admit to myself and all of you that I haven't been on a regular exercise routine, and I should be, which is why I'm kind of forcing myself to do this. I know that once I start I'll enjoy it, it's getting my ass up and getting out and doing it, and not finding excuses about why I can't right then.
I live with an enabler who has never had to worry about his weight ever in his life. Someone who is always offering me pizza, or fried food, or chips. Someone who hates vegetables and anything good for him. Its very frustrating for me and it's a huge mental struggle.. I'm fighting daily to do what is good for me.
Don't get me wrong, I've been fighting temptation most of the time, and trying to make the right food choices. I count my calories, fat, protein, carbs and sugar every day and make sure I stay in my ranges and do what is right for me. But it's a never-ending battle with him wanting to go out to eat all the time, wanting to hang out in the bar with our friends, and buy all kinds of junk to eat, etc.. it goes on and on.
Anyway, back to my point. I signed up for a 1 year contract that if I cancel I have to pay a buyout of $58. Not a big deal, but enough for me to convince myself to keep at it.
I need to stop letting other people interfere with me doing whatever I need to do to get to where I want to be. When I told him I joined his reaction wasn't "That's great!" or "Great idea!", it was "must be nice to be rich." To which I responded "Whatever, it's cheaper than a bar tab." and "Thanks for your support."
So my commitment to me is to do what is right for me, even when temptation tries to get the best of me. I just need some support. I am committing to go to the gym at -least- 3x a week to use the cardio equipment. This is the only way I'm going to get moving.
I guess that's it for now. Thanks for reading my vent.

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
Im not telling you this is going to be easy,
Im telling you its going to be worth it.
