Ok, I am only about 4 weeks post op. I am curious, is having to only have decaf a lifetime thing or will I eventually be able to have regular coffee??/

I have had regular coffee since day one at the hospital. My doc and Nut never restriced caffine for me, only the cream and sugar. And considering I only drink coffee and water...thank goodness they didn't...lol

I have had regular coffe since the day after my surgery. I would be lost without it! I also drink tea and it has caffine. some docs say no but mine said it is ok . I use half and half in my coffee from the dairy farm across the street from me( cant get it any fresher!) and I use a sugar subsitute. ( truvia or splenda)

The reason my Dr. advises against caffeine is because it is an appetite stimulant.

It is an appetite stimulant, a diuretic (so you have to drink a lot more fluid to counteract those effects, and also and irritant to your new tummy.

My doc said some caffeine in okay. He said I could have a morning cup of coffee if I want to. I am not a coffee drinker but I do like my tea:)

I waited until I was about 3 months out before I went back to coffee. Now, I limit my coffee to one per day plus an occasional Iced Coffee from Dunkin' Donuts.

I was on decaf coffee for about 3 weeks and then went back to regular with no problems. Gotta have my morning coffee!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
