Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Did you take your measurements pre surgery???? If not, do so now!! That way you have another way to check your progress.
I am so thankful my NUT made me take mine.... Now I will always have that to refer to while on my journey!
CHIN UP babes!! This is just a very small moment on your journey thru the rest of your life... in a bit, you'll be posting on here about smaller sizes, smaller #'s, and a ton of NSVs! I promise!
you didnt gain your weight in a few weeks and you wont lose it that quickly tam...its GONNA happen..people all jump start at different paces...pacience is a virtue remember :-)
I'm sorry that you are so down! I went 2 weeks without it moving. When I went and spoke with my doctor he told me it could be three things....1) a natural stall that will resolve itself, 2) not enough calorie intake (I really wasn't hungry and wasn't eating a lot at all), and 3) not enough protein intake (I was struggling getting up to 80 grams a day). That day I went to GNC and found shakes with 50grams of protein, it has been recommended here. That was last Wed. I weighed myself on Monday morning and I had lost 7lbs in 4 days! It still could have been any of the three...or a combination of any of the three, but I learned a big lesson. I have to eat...even if I don't feel like it...and I had to find a way to get up to 80 grams of protein in a day...instead of merely feeling overwhelmed and just "trying". I had to be very aggressive about it and in control. My clothes were loose too, and I would think that surely I had lost...but nothing. Are you eating enough calories to loose? Are you getting close to 80grams of protein a day in? I completely underestimated how important those are for our "tool" to work the way it needs too!
I will be praying for you today, that God will lift your spirits and help you feel more in control of things! It will move soon, don't give in to the discouragement being whispered into your heart!

I also found I wasn't eating enough... I struggle to get in enough food still cause I really am not hungry.... But I am working on getting enough food so my body can do what it needs to...
You are doing everything right... Your body will catch back up.... Keep the faith, and put this in God's hands... The scale will move...
And I too had to change my "scale" habits... I weigh myself on Wednesdays and always before a doc appt.... My scale never matches the docs so i want the numbers from the same scale I have used pre and post op...
Try and be nice to YOU today.. Do something special... Even if its picking up some flowers to set on your table... You are worth it...
Love you my friend... Big Hugzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
I stalled at 7 weeks. I mean, dead stand still, no numbers changing, not even the one after the decimal point. BUT...I knew that this was coming at some point, and just had to wait it out.
Keep you chin up! Your body goes into conservation/starvation mode because we are getting so little in. This is NORMAL! You are NOT broken and neither is your new tool!
Your body will continue to shrink :) I am at another stall. Dead stand still again. It's a bummer but it's going to be okay! I just keep telling myself (as do others around me who say I am literally shrinking before them) that the next time I get on the scale, it will drop.
Hang in there beautiful! You got this! Don't let those dark cloud boogers mess up your sunshine!
xoxo
