A lot of people have their excess skin removed. I don't know how many of past members who had the surgery are still coming here. You might want to try Spanx a bit and see how they work for you. Scarring really depends a great deal on your particular body and how it heals, so one person's experience may not be yours. How are your GBS scars? That might give you and ideal..... :)

They are almost completely gone. I use a lot of moisturizers and vitamin E to help with that.

6 weeks ago I had my arms and breasts done. I wore a sleeveless dress last week and didn't think twice about anyone seeing the incision lines. In fact noone noticed until I lifted my arms and showed them. I also love that I no longer need to "scoop" my breasts into my bra. I'm so happy and ready to schedule my total body lift and tummy tuck, although I'll probably wait until the fall for that.
My doctor said that I heal really well. I'm sure it's the 60+ grams of protein that I eat in a day that helped with the healing. (Moral: Eat your protein it's important) My scars are fading more and more each week. Vitamin E is awesome and I've also heard of Rose hip Oil for scars. Now that I've reached my 6 week mark I'm going to give the oil a try. I'm also going to look into scar massage therapy.
I fortunately have not had any skin break down or rashes that can happen with the extra skin, the unfortunate part of not having those symptoms, is that my plastic surgery is not covered by insurance because it's considered cosmetic. My arms and breasts (lift and implants) cost me $19,000, my next procedure will cost me about $12,000+, and my third procedure will be a thigh lift which will cost me about $8,000+. My grand total will be about $42,000. For me it's all worth it.

@ ShellyNY--If all I can afford is my Arms and Breasts then it will be worth it. I have always been very bosomy and I am sad to see them droopy! How long has it been since you had your surgery?
@Farmgirl--I do spanx now but with summer coming I just hate to wear layers...ya know?

Hey, hun! I lost 175 lbs...and if, by "contouring," you mean plastic surgery skin removal...then, yes,I've done it all!!

My scars are documented in my photos. I'm still making monthly payments but, to paraphrase Joan Rivers, I'd rather have a new body getting out of an old car than an old body getting out of a new car.!

I staged my surgeries...An extended TT & breast lift with augmentation, a posterior, circumferential belt lipectomy, brachioplasty, and leg lift (yep, that's 4). I'm totally happy with my results and would totally do it again!

Damn right, Shelley! I explained this to my husband the other night.. It's just like taking out a mortgage. This is an investment and I'm worth all the money in the world, if that's what it takes! And good for you, Mia! 100lbs!? That's just incredible! I'm only 2 days out.. But I've already got plans for skin removal (and breasts) and I'll be damned if scars will keep me from going through with it! Wishing you the best of luck on your next journey!

OH! And BIO-OIL... It's for scars, cheap on amazon and is an incredible oil that helps with stretch marks and scars! I've had 8 different surgeries, most recently was my knee and a large mole taken off my shoulder and this oil made the scars almost disappear!
