Not photos! lol. I was just wondering about all your bowel movements and how they changed after surgery. I know I'm taking in much much less solid food but I think I'd feel better if I pooped more than once a week. Seems like I alternate between loose and brick and there's no in between. I think that would be a 1 and a 7 on the Bristol scale (yes...there really is a poop scale. You can google it). So if you have hard stools and you're post op, what do you do for relief?

I am six months out and have a daily protein shake for breakfast and I add a serving of a Metamucil type product to my shake daily. I also use those bite-size prunes and have just a few a day. So far, my bowel moments are the same. Atleast once a day, sometimes more! Deb

I have horrible issues with my BM- or lack thereof. I usde benefiber, colase- and if it really backs up milk of magnesia. Still have not figured out the magic combination, my doctor says I have to be certain to get my fluids in. I am working on it

I was someone who have never had problems with constipation before surgery. After surgery has been a bit of an issue, to the point where I actually had to go get some suppositories the other day (goofy clerk asked me if I wanted a bag for them, idiot of course I want a bag!). I've been taking colace daily since then but still waiting to see if that will be the trick or if I will have to try other options as well.

Everything is the same once a day sometimes more. I make sure to drink a V-8 everyday. If I happen to go a day without I use a little Milk of Magnesua and I am back on track. It seems to makes it worse when you wait several days waiting to see if you will go. Then trying to take something and waiting days for that to work. Once you get going just watch and if you skip a day take a little something and get back on track. My colon doctor said that the bowel is a creator of habit once you get your body trained you will go everyday. Just pick a time sit down and relax and everything should work do this everyday. Hope everything works out.

one year out, never the same as before. Watch the constipation, it can really tear up your lower GI and pelvic tissues.

Ha! As a matter of fact, I am having a huge issue with constipation right now. I've been adding Benefiber to my liquids, took stool softeners and NOTHING. I'm 6 weeks out. At this point, I think I'd welcome a bout of diarrhea!
