Today make 3 weeks post op for me... And I have a PCP appointment this am (It's only 7:40 here in Oregon) and a ortho appt this afternoon.

I have to take the bus (we only have 1 car right now).... just a few short weeks ago I'd have been a mess at the thought of having to take the bus because of all the walking involved... In fact, I would have taken my hubby to work (long drive!) just to avoid it...

Not today!! In fact I am looking forward to it! The walking does not bother me at all! In fact, I am headed to the library in-between appointments instead of finding a place to just plop down to kill time!

Many months ago I had started a thread about the NSV's I was looking forward to the most... This was one of them, just to be able to walk to the bus stop without pain or my cane... Today, at just 3 weeks post op... I am doing this!

What a way to celebrate the 3 week point! :) Anyways... off I go to catch the bus! :) Packed me 2 string cheese and a quest bar for later as I won't be home till 4 or so :)

I have been following your path for the last 6-7 months. And my turn in Monday Aug 19th. You have given me insight to what is around the corner. I understand everyone is different but-----------at least I have a good solid idea what to expect. That's awesome! Today is a "no gym" day for me as I'm doing CrossFit tomorrow and would be dead....so, I walked about a mile to have lunch from work and back. I plan to take a family walk tonight to the park - we'll see if it's still over 100 degrees though....

That's great you are feeling so much better walking!!!!! I hope that I can "start" to walk, after my surgery. I cant walk well at all with my back and hip and knee pain. We shall see how it feels with less weight!

Becca I do know that feeling so well and I am so happy for you in fact after a 12 hour work day - I actually had enough energy to still walk off campus which is about a 4 block radius to get my cab - It felt so good, the weather is really nice, the breeze was in my face and I felt so rejuvenated. Keep up the good work my friend, you are really doing an awesome job.

oh by the way i actually walked up 4 flights of stairs each landing having 2 flights to see an ole friend on campus who I never visited in her office. My energy level is off the meter now - things i would have never imagined doing - I am doing with ease now. I absolutely love it.

It sure has been a busy day, especially discovering I have a neck again in the middle of it all! LOL!

But the day was great! Came home tired, but feeling great!

It's those small things that we appreciate now. Sometimes I am walking and think "wow, my knees don't ache!" and I am not breathing like I am chasing Brad Pitt!! Congratulations and I look forward to hearing more of those great NSV's! You truly are a role model to all of us!
