For some reason, my body is telling me to go easy with the meats...ok! My pouch don't like the heavy, greasy, thick, chewy meat stuff.
I am new at this, but we are here to share our experiences and gained knowledge, then do your own research. Good luck.
George Mateljan of The Worlds Healthiest foods is my go to guy for this stuff . His site is a wealth of information but difficult to navigate. I fine nothing to support the beans and rice theory or "claim". As for what my gut tells me.... This food feels heavy to me so I will keep my eye on the scale tomorrow. Incidentally this dish gives my whole family what my mum used to call "the trots" : ). For me it doesn't but for me the trots would be a welcome diversion from the norm right now. If you catch my drift.
@ Lu, So I take it thats a big NO : ), XO, Hope

I notice that he does not mention the protein combination beans and rice theory although he considers rice to be healthy, Hope
Lentils are pure yummieness by the way. A legume that cooks quickly and is delicious in stews, soups, salads, and made into patties or loafs. It's very well digested, high in protein & fiber. The recipe listed above sounds heavenly and I'm copying it into my recipes for next weeks menu.
