Breaking news: My first time on the elliptical since my surgery and my distance was 450 in 45 minutes with one hydration break. I have to read my manual to figure out just what that means (lol), but it sounds awesome to me. I'm able to post this so apparently i don't need the paramedics, which is good news. I may have over done it just a tad for the first day out the box and will moderate it a little more each day, but I have to admit it was a little easier 50+ pounds lighter.

Great job! When I first joined my gym, I started out only doing about 10-12 minutes of the elliptical and hurt for a week! Now I can do longer amounts but I usually stop at 30 minutes cause I get bored. I can't do one pc of equipment that long except for bike riding outside. That I love!

The elliptical is easy but you will work your muscles. I don't do the whole thing at one time in fact jillian - the instructor on the sound card that comes with the machine cautions you when to stop and rest or take water breaks for dehyrdration so i have my breaks in between and the machine stops where you are until you step back on it - just don't stay gone too long or you will be starting over. It' best to jot down your numbers in case that happens. I love mine and it allows me to exercise at home which i prefer for now.

I try to go to the gym every day and succeed about 5 days a week. When I get there I do 2 hours or so. Am getting better at it. I can walk faster now and added weight to the lift machines.

Thank you guys for the advice on the elliptical, I may watch a couple a folks and see how it is done then try it a while. I am more of a turtle than a gazzelle!

Had a young guy show me how to get more out of the crunch machine today. I am usually there real early and no one else is around. We are open 24 hrs and can go in anytime. I really enjoy the gym. It has been so many years of barely getting around to being able to do what I want to! 98 pounds down!
