Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Weight is just one variable in measurements of what you have and haven't lost. Don't just rely on that as an end goal measurement. Yeah, it's the easiest, we just step on a scale, but it might help to also do other measurements. Take measurements of your arms, chest, stomach, hips, thighs, etc and see how far you've gone, if you can walk further or faster, that's another sign of things going well, if you find your emotional outlook better, that's another sign. Don't focus on the numbers on the scale, it's just a number. The end game is being happy and healthy (at least it is for me), and that should never be determined by a number on a scale.
But that's just my opinion, I could be wrong.. ;)
If you are following your plan, protein, fluids, exercise, vitamins etc etc... then you are doing all you can do. The rest is out of our control.
