Glad you finally called and got seen. Even without history of clots and stuff, major surgery can bring it on.
I had dizziness before and after my surgery, due to lack of food and calories, the liquid diet really did me in, but anyone having shortness of breath or sharp pain like that should be on the phone or on the way to the doctor right away.
Glad you're on the mend, and thanks for sharing. Hopefully you'll save someone else delaying treatment for something like this.

Hi Everyone! Sorry for not keeping in touch....well here I am....nearly 4 months post-op and down a total of 97lbs!!! Even with the complication of pulmonary emboli....NO REGRETS!! This is the most important and best decision I have made in my life. It has given me my life back!! I miss out on nothing! I eat well.....socialize.....work hard and at the end of the day.... I am no longer a "couch potato" Did I say potato? (Giggle) I smile because I no longer eat potatoes.... or pasta....or rice....all the starchy things. I have been able to maintain the type of eating that the surgeon requested me to eat from the beginning....and you know what? So far, so good.... I am not missing anything....okay...there is one thing....my S Pellegrino sparkling water.....It's an Italian thing :) However other than that....nothing food wise! There's just too many other things to be happy about! The freedom to move about without carrying all that extra weight. I am sooooo comfortable. I still have about 60 more lbs to go, however, with my new tiny tummy...I will get there. Luckily I do not experience "Hunger" or the hangry's as I used to call it. Once I got over the post-op pain of the surgery and the PE....It has been a continued path to improvement. I wish you all well.....and once I get my pictures from my phone downloaded... Glad you are feeling better! This is a perfect example of how we need to stay in touch with our doctors! Too many people or doctors put things off when it can be very dangerous. Congrats on your progress!

Listen to the lady, folks. A pulmonary embolus can kill, and quickly. Take heed - DO NOT ignore breathing issues with sudden chest or shoulder pain.

I was sorry to hear about your troubles after surgery and I am glad you are doing well now. I see a lot of post op complications at work, they are not fun. I have been busy since surgery, mostly working. I have been fortunate since surgery and have only had a couple of bouts of depression. Its sure hard to get used to all the compliments about my weight loss ( I don't know what to say besides "thank you" without sounding dumb ). I have had mixed reactions to having had weight loss surgery but I don't deny it or try to hide it. I feel bad that you were having such a bad time and I was a loser friend and not there for you. I am sorry.
