Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
Now, I can eat just fine with no problems. I have lost 81 pounds in 8 weeks. Alot of problems that I had were my fault and not going by the surgeons protocol. Some was just trial and error with food.
I do not regret getting the surgery. I am 44 years old now. I regret not getting it sooner. Its worth all the problems that I have had, which where and are fixable.
I had to give up my diet coke, junk food, fast food and anything with sugar in it. Yes, I have a twinge for a drink of diet coke, but it goes away.
I gave away size 26-32 clothes to a woman who needed them more than I did. A good feeling. I love the feeling of being able to do things that I have not done in years. My blood pressure is normal and I will be taken off more blood pressure pills. I only take 2 effexor instead of 3 now.
I am free of the cyce of thinking about food constantly and I still fight the emotional side about food, but with the tool I have been given, I have a better chance of winning this fight for life, for a healthier life style. So its up to the person who gets this tool if used in the right way to lose weight.
No regrets, Only when I go to a Buffett with family and friends and have to pay regular price for a childs portion. LOL True!
I have no regrets whatsoever and would do it again in a heartbeat.
Hopefully you will feel the same soon
