Gastric Bypass Surgery Support Group
Gastric bypass (GBP) is any of a group of similar operative procedures used to treat morbid obesity, a condition which arises from severe accumulation of excess weight in the form of fatty tissue, and the health problems ("co-morbidities") which result. If you are considering gastric bypass or have had it, join the community where we share our experiences and find support.
I have bad knees, and while weight loss didn't make my knees any better, it certainly took a lot of stress off those joints. You will feel better when you are putting less weight on the joint, and you probably will be better able to handle the repair surgery when you weigh less.
I picked up a 25 lb. sack of pet food the other day and was shocked at how heavy it was. I used to carry around four of those things all the time! No wonder it stressed me joints! :)
