Most alcohol is so high in calories, and totally messes with blood sugar and could very well cause a signifigant stall in my weight loss. I am not ready to have anything slow down my journey, I have a long ways to go, I don't need to throw an extra mountain in the road just to look cool with a peer group. They can all just accept my sobriety. :)
Now, that i'm preparing for my upcoming surgery in August, I know for a fact, that i am not going to start up.
That's what kind of jump started my weight gain, back in my 20's...Going to the bars..dancing yes...all night, but then going back home after partying, STARVING...full of calorie packed beer or drinks, eating at 2 or 3am, and then going to bed for it all, to just SIT there...!!!!
Nope, not this girl...no way no how...It's not that important to me at all.
You're an adult, but according to everyone else, the sugar and fat content doesn't seem worth it, after having a major surgery, and preparing for this for so long.
Good luck with your decision.

Every person's body responds differently go slow, I would also suggest starting with something light like a wine spritzer (1/2 wine/1/2 club soda).
