I am so sorry dream. I am glad your doctor is being proactive though. Don't worry they will straighten it all out and you will be back on the recovery road better then ever. Hang in there.

By the way I am 4.5 weeks out with gbs.

I had a stricture when I was about 4 weeks out also. I had an endoscopy and they stretched it out. I felt 100 % better afterwards and have not had any problems since. I hope they find out the cause quickly and the fix is an easy one!

so a stricture would cause you to feel nauseated and not want to eat or drink? just wondering have a friend that is struggling.

I'm sorry you are not feeling well. It sounds a lot like a stricture, which is a common complication in the first two months PO. I hope you are well soon. :)

I had something similar at 6 weeks out but I'm doing great now (9weeks out). I did the 2 weeks liquid then returned to solids. They said it wasn't anything I could have prevented, just a part of the heeling process for some. I was told though not to return to full liquids without the dr telling me to as this can cause the problem to happen agian (if there are no solids, there is nothing preventing the intestines from heeling inwards again). I didn't have a full stricture, so no balloon was needed, just the endoscopy was enough to help. I was also pretty dehydrayed- from not being able to get fluids in and I had been really constipated, which they said was also a part pf the problem. I had no issues up until that piont. Its common to have issues 4-6 weeks out i hope you feel better and get out of the hospital quickly. Good luck!'

I hope they fix what is going on for you. I have had a couple upper GI's done post op to check for leaks or obstruction and they both came back ok. One done in ER and one done out patient. I had sleeve done June 11.

I have had many days like you described. I have had countless endoscopies, two major revisions, but even with all these issues I am still unable to eat most foods! One of the hospital admissions resulted in my needing an ERCP. My liver was all messed up and because I didn't have a gall bladder, I had to have the procedure to get everything running well again. Many of my symptoms then were the same as you described.
I hope you find what's wrong soon. I am three and a half years out from my original bypass and I have had nothing but problems since. I fight against my body everyday to feel normal (whatever that means). I am thinking that gastroparesis could be my problem from the beginning. I see a new gastroenterologist next week, hopefully he will have some thoughts about my conditions. So, never give up. Keep pushing doctors to listen to you and taking you seriously.
Even with all my problems, I would still recommend the surgery to any one who wants it!!!
