I recommend drinking all the time. The last thing you want to do is get dehydrated. Follow the direction your doctor gave you about not drinking before and after meals. If your making your protein drink ith water that counts as fluid intake. Sugar free jello and sugar free posicles are another good way to get in fluids.
I slept in my recliner the first 5-6 nights after surgery then I was able to sleep in my bed. Be patient and you'll get there.

I slept in my bed first night home from both surgery and revision however I am a stomach sleeper too so I had 6 pillows a couple were throw pillows propping up my head and supporting my back or legs or just kinda stuffed until I was comfortable. I don't sleep on my belly still to this day I have fewer pillows now lol
If you keep your water at hand and just sip when you think of it. Try not to drink so much it puts pressure on the pouch but it shouldn't siince water pretty much flows right on thru.
Some folks measure and time thier drinking, it's a good idea but I am not that organized!
